Historically, Windsor chairs made as rockers (circa 1790), as opposed to those with rockers added at a later date, were rare up until the late 18th Century. By the early 1800s, these chairs had become very popular.
Typically, Windsor rockers have relatively high backs and more often are Comb-backs or Fan-backs, as opposed to this Double Bow-back style.
This chair is the smallest of the rocking chairs I craft and is seen as very graceful and feminine.
This rocking chair usually has the American shield seat.
