The Continuous Arm Windsor Carver Chair (circa 1764) is an American design.
The back of the chair is formed by steam-bending one strip of wood about an inch wide and three-quarters of an inch thick. This strip, when given a second bend on each side, continues forward to form the arms of the chair.
From the back of the shield-shaped seat, two support spindles rise from the tail piece, as shown in the inset image. Visually, this Carver Chair is very graceful and pleasing to the eye.
